Cochrane is growing fast, and we have some good news: the Town has secured a new location in Riversong to serve Riversong, Fireside and Southbow. This is a vital first step in making sure a fire truck can get to your street quickly.

However, as your local firefighters, we want to make sure you understand a critical detail: A fire station is only as effective as the crew inside it. You may have heard the term "partial response" in the news lately. To most people, that sounds like a smart, budget-friendly way to staff a new station. But in an emergency, it can lead to a heartbreaking delay.

Here is the reality that most residents don't know: You see a fire truck at your driveway, but the crew is forced to stay outside and wait for backup. That wait feels like an eternity.
